Consider the messages as they relate to identity, tolerance, acceptance, individual power, labeling, "less than" or deficit thinking & expectations, legislation, expectation, and voice. What role can the institution of education play in the creation of a "more perfect union?" How might we each find points of connection in these stories? What is your role as a teacher? How will you use your voice?
